After an extended period of planning and building, the Ricola Herb Center has finally been completed by Herzog & de Meuron. The design reflects the look of the earth, taking on a light brown color and featuring very few windows.
The structure is located in Laufen in Switzerland, and is situated in a stunning area of the country. The surrounding landscape consists of rolling hills and nature, which is a perfect spot for this natural herb center. Moreover, the building was designed as a sustainable structure, producing less of an impact on the environment than most buildings. Considering the impressive scenery, incorporating these elements in the architecture is extremely important. Ruining the beauty of the area would be extremely unfortunate.
