The ribbon and textile artworks by Vadis Turner look like beautiful multicolored messes. These unique creations use a combination of ribbons, clothing, bed sheets, handkerchiefs, vintage chenille, quilts, bows and more types of fabric.

These creations by Vadis Turner are contemporary pieces that "re-imagine rites of passage and the classification of heirlooms." Valdis Turner works with traditional forms of craft that immediately catch people's attention with its bold and bright colors.

Valdis Turner earned her BFA and MFA at Boston University before entering the art world with her handcrafted artworks that contradict gender roles. This feminist artist and painter currently resides in New York City were she continues to create beautiful and contemporary ribboned and flower creations.
