So you have a lot of extra brush and foliage on your property, and you don’t really have the time to take a weed whacker to it. What are you going to do? You call Rent-a-Ruminant.

This ingenious service sees a landowner renting a small herd of goats for a period of time, so that goats can eat all the spare brush and foliage that is getting in the way. Rent-a-Ruminant is an environmentally sound operation, as they only use goats to clear away invasive plants.

I'm shocked that more countries don't pick up on this...deeper analysis required...

Do I hear giggling? I used this method to clear 10 acres of unwanted blackberry vines. But goats will not be confined to eating only unwanted vegetation. In fact, there's no rule for goats. Goats do exactly as they please. Shockingly, it's not always what you have in mind… which makes for entertaining goat tales sure to make you the pinnacle of attention at social events.

I would never giggle at something this potentially lucrative! ;-) In fact, I can completely see this as a massive overseas market opportunity, not to mention the totally viral pass-through aspects of something like this and those conversation starters, like you mentioned. I note that there are several problems that I identify right away. For one, you need to have a professional shepherd to take care of these charges, don't you? Not just anyone with their trusty Mioritic sheepdog (http://dogbreedinfo.com/images15/MioriticPuppyBuffyDSC02293.JPG). For two, what about all of the poop and mess the goats leave behind, presuming they'll defecate as they consume the vegetation and the garbage. How many goats are we talking about by the way? I'd be curious to know some more. For three, is this the only thing the goats eat? Garbage? What about if they catch a disease or this sort of thing? What happens then? I have more questions, Katie, but I can catch up with you here or on FB.
