Rock band REM is reeling after Peter Buck’s signature guitar was stolen from the stage on September 9. The guitar disappeared after a gig the band played in Helsinki, Finland at the Finnair Stadium. Peter Buck’s black Rickenbacker 360 guitar has been a crucial part of REM’s history since it was first used for the band’s 1982 debut ‘Chronic Town.’ There is a generous reward for information that leads to the return of the guitar to REM via fanclub@remtour.com or 706-353-6689 (country code 001, for those outside the US).  This instrument means a great deal to Peter and to REM. It is our sincere hope that whoever is responsible for the loss, or whoever has information which can help recover the guitar, will come forward to receive a generous reward, no questions asked," said a spokesperson for REM.
