A clever and oh so eco-friendly design studio with roots in Brazil and California, has taken recycled aluminium tab tops from soda pop cans and created a fresh and clean line of handbags, belts and jewelry. Escama Studio is based in California and works with Brazilian artist groups to produce fashion accessories with an eco-friendly mandate. Local Brazilian women are the crochet masterminds behind the line that’s designed in both studios. Each piece is made from post-consumer and other sustainable materials. Yet one would never know when drooling over such sleek and sexy pieces as the Tonia Wristlet, Leda Cut Out Clutch, or Lenilda Chain Bag. Eco-friendly fashion that shines on your shoulder or wrist? I’ll take two, and hold the Diet soda please!  Escama Studio has a symbiotic relationship with the people who make our products; if the artist cooperatives in Brasília prosper then both of our businesses will do well.
