Energizer Introduces a Responsible Product Long in the Making
Meghan Young — February 5, 2015 — Eco
Unlike lead-acid car batteries, household alkaline batteries were not commonly recycled--until now thanks to the latest line of recycled batteries by Energizer. Seven years in the making, the product is made using 4% recycled material, which might seem small to some. Yet it represents huge strides in this particular industry.
The recycled batteries, appropriately called Ecoadvanced, will slowly become even more environmentally conscious over the next 10 years. The Verge writes that "the company claims it wants to raise this proportion from 4 percent to 40 percent by 2025." Although the recycled batteries are slightly more expensive than its regular counterparts, this only makes sense considering the cost involved in creating them. Either way, the option for a more conscientious choice will be appreciated by consumers.
