Hallmark Rainbow Brite Makeover Sexes Up a Saturday Morning Classic

This Rainbow Brite makeover will either please you or make you mad, depending on how old you were in the 80s. Earlier this year, we covered the tween version of Dora the Explorer, and it appears that Rainbow Brite has gotten a similar slimmed-down, sexed-up treatment.

The Huffington Post picked up on the manga-inspired feel to Hallmark’s Rainbow Brite makeover. With Rainbow Brite’s longer, leaner silhouette and almond-shaped eyes, the adorable 80s cartoon certainly looks like a distant cousin of Sailor Moon. What do you think?
