The Quantum Tap Pours Only the Amount of Water You Measure

The Quantum Tap is a water-saving faucet designed by Dennis Kulage and Michael Scherger for the 2011 Red Dot Award Design Concept. The Quantum Tap makes conserving water easy by letting you measure the amount you want poured before you turn the tap on.

The Quantum Tap has a small plunger that must be pulled before each use. The plunger works like the plunger on a syringe and lets you measure exactly how much water you want to come out of your tap. Often times, people only mean to get a small amount of water -- say, a cup -- but still leave the tap running before and after they've gotten what they need. The Quantum Tap would cut this water waste, passing the savings on to both the consumer and the planet. Stats for Water-Rationing Faucet Fixtures Trending: Older & Chilly
