For those that are hesitant about carving up a pumpkin this Halloween season, perhaps this alternative stitched pumpkin design is a style more up your alley. This design offers a unique way to add color, text and graphics to your pumpkins without the mess of knives and carving.

While carving pumpkins is classic fall tradition, this tutorial teaches you to remake your pumpkins using colored string to add a quilted aesthetic that is equally as enjoyable and fun. The tutorial features turning any design or text into a pixels. Using a drill, the corners of each square are pieced through the pumpkin's flesh so technicolor string can be treaded through to create an X stitch. This is ideal for spelling out festive words like "Boo" or creating designs such as spiders.
