Many of us have tired of the conventional form of a lighting fixture, comprised of the usual base, bulb and lampshade, but Peculiar Attachments Table Lamps are very different. In fact, you may not even realize you're looking at functional illuminators when you first set eyes on them.
D.lab designer Chung Sui Fai constructed these playful pieces from an assortment of balau and maple wood, steel and aluminum. Avoiding common materials found in such objects, the creator has infused his creations with a whimsical quality that challenges the observer and user's perspective.
A hard metal cover replaces the usual translucent fabric diffuser, and with a coat of red, blue and black paint to dress up these lighthearted Peculiar Attachments Table Lamps, a contemporary De Stijl aesthetic is born.
