Patriotic Body Painting [Edit]

You are meant to carry your country’s flag with pride, but surely it is even better to carry it on your skin. This collection shows the best of patriotic body painting.

Most flags look pretty good when painted onto a naked body or face. Advertisers have long been aware of the visual impact of this, the classic example being the Wayne Rooney body-painted England flag for the World cup.

As long as you stay within the country which faces your design, you would think that everyone would want to give you some love if you sport patriotic body or face paint. Not so it turns out.

The gallery also shows a Rogue magazine cover which raised a lot of hype through controversy. Australian-Filipina Joey Mead was featured wearing nothing but a flag in the “State Of The Nation” issue, and it stirred up quite a fuss
