A set of ten large video game developers across the African continent have come together to form a single entity known as the 'Pan Africa Gaming Group' (PAGG). While the separate studios will maintain their independence across their own businesses, the group will collaborate on a variety of efforts to increase the popularity of the gaming industry in Africa.
Some of the large ventures that the PAGG will undertake are: creating inclusive, non-violent mobile games, train future game developers in Africa, host online and in-person events, and create an accessible market through the shared resources of the ten studios.
The PAGG noted that there are now hundreds of millions of individuals across Africa with powerful smartphones capable of gaming online, however there are not nearly as many inclusive mobile games that accurately represent these players.
