If you can't handle a dead yard in winter, or in the heat of summer, consider painting it to fake a lush lawn!
With the awful drought plaguing Atlanta and surrounding states, residents are finding it hard to cope with water shortage, and that includes dealing with the aesthetic demise of their lawns. Displeased with the ever-browning grasses resulting from water restrictions, some home owners have opted to utilize services like Always Green Grass Painting, a company that literally paints lawns green.
"Grass painting is non- toxic, environmentally friendly and depending on traffic it can last up to 90 days," the company site explains. "Our grass painting process keeps the grass warmer in the winter months and green during the summer months due to lack of rain, drought, over fertilization and fungus."
It's better than the alternative; these folks are keeping their gardens green in every sense, unlike those homeowners who sneak out at nights to water their thirsty lawns when they think no one is watching.

Images of Alice in Wonderland keep springing to mind... remember the scene when they "Paint the Roses Red" to please the crazy queen of hearts?
