Peggotty Christensen’s spring line boasts vibrant colors and unique patterns. This artful couture begins with white silk stretched in frames that is suspended and painted with fiber reactive dyes and then steam set for permanence.
Once painted, the fabric is washed, cut and sewn into a finished garment. Christensen works from her home studio. She hand paints all of the fabric for her garments using discharge, devoré, resists, and washes.
Christensen is inspired by the surrounding Arizona landscape and Southwest art. Her work has been exhibited internationally, and she sells her pieces through select shops and boutiques.
