Escalators generally aren't considered a source of entertainment... unless of course you enjoy the immaturity of running against the natural direction of the stairs. This funky Norwegian escalator, however, doubles as an art installation and is a visually delightful light show.

The 'Tunnel of Light' is a multi-colored installation at the Nydalen Metro Station in Oslo, Norway.

Implications - Nydalen Station is a new station that opened in 2003. The architect named Kristin Jarmund was in charge of creating the 'Tunnel of Light,' which took two and a half years to complete. The amazing installation features both visual and sound effects and is placed in a 27-meter-long glass tunnel that wraps around the escalator.
