Despite the recession, the Oscars were an over-the-top glittering affair… save for the necklaces. At this year’s Oscars, diamonds, gems and baubles weren’t adorning necklines like they usually do. Instead, the actresses let their gowns shine along with hefty earrings and statement-piece bracelets.

Angelina Jolie showed up at the Oscars sans-necklace, a surprise after gossip-hungry media reported Mrs. Brad Pitt would drape a $20 million necklace around her slender neck.
