Obama has a lot of fans making art in his honour, and photographic mosaics seem to be a favourite. Professionals and amateur fans are tinkering around with photo collaging techniques to make mosaics of Barack Obama's face. Through the use of tiny photos of Obama, images of the state flags and photos of people who support Obama, these pieces of digital art result in poster-worthy Obama tribute portraits.

The most famous of these mosaics is Deep Zoom Obama, a 10,000 x 10,000 pixel mosaic made from more than 12,000 thumbnails. All the images were uploaded on by Obama supporters. They were then transformed into a digital mosaic using Deep Zoom, a new technology by Microsoft for Silverlight 2.0 which lets you zoom very closely into high res images. The video illustrates this.

This gallery highlights some of the neatest Obama mosaics on the web. The fourth image in the gallery is the Obamosaic, a mosaic of different Obama t-shirts sold on the web. Stats for Obama Mosaics Trending: Older & Warm
