 Prize-Winning 'Nuage Vert' Design Projects Green Cloud Into Helsinki Sky Published: Jan 18, 09 Views: 2,436 Nothing spells pollution like a green cloud; that’s why French duo HeHe, also known as Helen Evens and Heiki Hansen, created an incredible environmental public art installation called ‘Nuage Vert.’ ‘Nuage Vert,’ which translates to ‘green cloud,’ is a laser-projected green cloud over the Salmisaari power plant that morphs to reflect the size and shape of its emissions. According to Inhabitat, ‘Nuage Vert’ reflects the electrical consumption of residents in Ruoholahti and Lauttasaari. ‘Nuage Vert’ received the 2008 Golden Nica in the Hybrid Art category and also won the 01SJ Green Prix for Environmental Art.  Development commenced in 2002 and concluded in February 2008 with a performance in Helsinki that impressively demonstrated how art is capable of encompassing an entire city—its public sphere, its industry and its inhabitants—and unfolding sociopolitical relevance.
