I am captivated by the image of young male model Nicolas Rippol strangling himself with cigarette smoke coming out of his mouth. Is it a statement on smoking being a killer, or a combination of two vices, cigarettes and self-hurting?

The eye-catching image can be found in the upcoming August 2009 issue of Dazed & Confused in an editorial by photographer Karim Sadli.

In the editorial, Nicolas is styled by Robbie Spencer in fittingly dark pieces that add to the edge of the images.
