New Drug Erases Bad Memories

Everyone’s got something in their past they want to forget, even Paris Hilton. Now there is a pharmaceutical delete button. Why go through years of therapy or self-medication then rehab, when you can take a sci-fi wonder pill? Remember Total Recall and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind?

The drug is currently being developed by researchers at Harvard and McGill University. The way it works is that the drug is supposed to disrupt biochemical pathways that allow for memory recall. So far, the drug has been tested on traumatized accident and rape victims. It's proven to be successful because these individuals have reported fewer signs of stress when they recalled their difficult times.
