The Neil Barrett SS 2015 collection innovates classic menswear by pairing traditional silhouettes with unlikely fabrics.
The collection is comprised of motorcycle jackets, bombers, raincoats and parkas in polished leather and neoprene. The show opened with all-white ensembles, before gradually introducing shades of grey and blue (as well as some unexpected pops of primary color), and eventually ending with sleek black-on-black looks. In terms of motif, Roman statue heads were reiterated throughout the collection in the form of graphic prints. By putting a classical reference in such a contemporary collection, Barrett makes a statement about history and modernity and how the two interact and inform one other in a fashion sense.
Beyond providing an awesome runway show, the Neil Barrett SS 2015 collection is an unexpected collection of garments for the sophisticated, minimalist dresser.
