If you took a million square meters of totally undeveloped land in a relatively undeveloped nation, what would you build? Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG) is going to attempt to build a mountain range. The Zira Island Master plan in Baku, Azerbaijan will be seven “leisure peaks†to reflect the seven mountain peaks that Mother Nature built. It will be a 100% sustainable ecosystem.
Implications - Wealthy consumers are constantly seeking new ways to experience luxury. By constructing a mountain range or resort in remote, uninhabited locations, companies or developers can provide wealthy consumers with a prestigious experience. Companies that can offer a private, high-end experience are going to find high rates of success with wealthy consumers in search of such an experience.
