At first glance, the editorial featuring the up-and-coming fashion label Moses Gauntlett Cheng looks as though it were inspired by Napoleon Dynamite. It stars a skinny, handlebar-moustached man in crop tops, bell bottoms and silk shirts more befitting of a female model. The flamboyant looks, which were styled by Hali Christou, may look as though they are meant to be funny, but the creative mind behind the shoot wanted to bring something else to light.
In addition to showcasing pieces from the latest Moses Gauntlett Cheng collection, Maya Fuhr "highlights the commonly accepted but unarguably ridiculous nature of mainstream fashion editorial – all while showing off the brilliant clothes of MGC and their peers," writes Its Nice That. The poses are something you'd find in Vogue or ELLE.
