Trend Hunter has done several features on eccentric high-heeled shoes that are killer, mean-looking and just plain dangerous. The batch of footwear we bring you today features a wide range of very eclectic and eccentric styles punctuated, in my opinion, by designer John Galliano’s violet double platform contraptions with super-skinny heels.

Steve McQueen’s black, open-toed glassy boots with the glass dagger for a heel can double as weapons in a dark-alley encounter, since they’re impossible to run in. With heels at these heights, it’s no wonder catwalk models are falling flat on their faces. Walking on these mini-torture chambers, which look like they’re pulled straight from the Middle Ages, is an extreme sport in itself.
