When putting together these gorgeous, goddess-inspired wedding dresses, I thought of how ancient Greeks and Romans depicted the apparel worn by goddesses and affluent women.

With lightweight and long-flowing dresses full of details like empire waistlines and rows of vertical and/or horizontal lines created by gathered material, this attire has come to be associated with all that is regal and ethereal, even today.

Of course, many affluent women in Ancient Greece and Rome wore vibrantly colored dresses as well. While wearing colorful wedding gowns is becoming more popular, I’ve chosen white bridal dresses because they have “goddess” written all over them.

You can find each goddess wedding dress featured in the gallery from the following designers:

1. Maggie Scott (Via URL)

2-4. 2009 Pronovias wedding gowns

5. Valentino Sposa 2009 wedding dress

6-10. Manuel Mota Costura and Manuel Mota Pronovias wedding dresses.
