To make it easier to store and carry towels, these Mini Travel Towels are packaged like pills. To use, just pop one out, wet it with water and next thing you know, “poooch”, it transforms into a sturdy 11” x 9” textured towel.

They say its great to carry it in your purse and use at any time. Well, I don’t know if I would like to have a pill shaped towel with me. Why would I want to jinx myself by carrying something that looks like medication. Sorry, I am not on crazy pills just yet.

I know, my jokes are lame….

Anyways, this is actually good for camping, hiking, or at any day to day activity. Just make sure you don’t swallow your towel!

If it was invented decades ago, it certainly didn't catch on. The idea is still unique and hasn't had much international coverage, so it's still an interesting find.

Just because Americans are new to this it doesn't mean it "never caught on" or it "hasn't had much international coverage". This is as common as bar soap in Asia. You can find it at any local 7-11 and at just about any international airport.

That's the point of the web exactly, to share interesting ideas internationally... and btw, I'm not based in America and I've never seen them here either.

I've been living in Malaysia for three years and I haven't seen them or heard about them, so I would say you're pretty wrong about them being common in Asia. I use 7-11 stores and airports frequently, they're not there. Maybe the idea hasn't caught on because its cool in theory but lame in real life. But its surely trend worthy. I myself wrote a trend about a compressed t-shirt that grows with water a few months ago, and it was pretty new to me and many others.
