Artist and pin maker Marianne Batlle creates intricate accessories that are an homage to pop culture icons in the world of art and cinema. In addition to her creations of Vincent Van Gogh, Jean Michel Basquiat and Elizabeth Taylor in Cleopatra, Marianne Batlle has also paid tribute to Star Trek's Spock character along with fallen rock and roll icon David Bowie.

A graduate from the Francois Lesage school of art in Paris -- where she studied embroidery -- the artist creates incredibly detailed and visually striking celebrity pins.

In addition to appealing to collectors and pop culture buffs, this art series also catches one's eye thanks to its dynamic craftsmanship. The workmanship celebrates traditional rather than machine or technology-assisted embroidery techniques and is nostalgic in its overall look and feel.
