The Sunray Cruize Car is a golf cart that replenishes its own power supply via a rooftop of solar panels. Solar panels help out the environment by conserving energy and the government thinks you should be rewarded for doing your part by giving you a tax credit for buying solar.
You can get credit for buying solar on form 3468, line 2b. Below is an example of the breakdown for that credit*:
Solar Panel = $2,700.00;
Batteries = $ 600.00;
Total = $3,300.00.
Total on line 2b of IRS Form 3468 is
$3,300.00 x 30% = $990.00.
