When will IKEA offer this? The Maison Tropicale, a revolutionary design by Jean Prouvé is going on display at Tate Modern, a design museum in London.
The building originally designed to help with the shortage of housing in Congo and Niger during the late 40’s and early 50’s. Jean Prouvé is known as an inovator of space planning and idustrial design, who enjoyed working with raw materials like aluminum, plastic and steel. Many of the artists influence can be seen in everyday furniture, and the local Ikea store.
