Music can make people feel like they're floating on air, but the MAG-LEV Audio turntable makes the music itself float -- and not in a metaphorical sense. The trippy turntable uses magnetic levitation technology to make the vinyls that it plays hover a few centimeters above the surface of the turntable, while still spinning at the right rotations per minute.

In recent years, listening to vinyl has seen a surge in popularity thanks to audiophiles recognizing that the medium offers unparalleled sound fidelity. With increased vinyl listening comes increased turntable usage, and the MAG-LEV Audio turntable is a novel way to use an old piece of technology.

The MAG-LEV Audio turntable works through the use of magnets in the base that carries the vinyl, known as the platter. These magnets react with the magnets in the turntable itself, pushing the platter up and causing the vinyl to levitate in midair.
