This strangely fascinating series of installation works by Loren Schwerd is inspired by a love seat Schwerd discovered in a dumpster. The ‘Loveseats’ collection looks to explore relationships, in both a metaphorical and paradoxical sense. The black heart has a certain romantic quality that symbolizes unity. Schwerd’s works include video, free standing sculpture, art installations, and wearable art. Much of her art utilizes human hair, wood and string.  Permeating all of my creative endeavors is a slightly dark humor and a fascination with awkward beauty.
