Beethoven's life and work demonstrated that music can indeed be enjoyed by those who cannot hear, and the very idea behind these Louder Speakers was reinforce this truth. Sharona Merlin has developed two unique gadgets that translate the audible features of tracks, expressing them for senses other than aural.

The round speaker has a textured surface that's delicate and designed for manipulation and visual appreciation. When a piece is played, the triangular details press out and draw back to produce an evolving veneer that corresponds to the rhythm and the beat. The rectangular Loud Speaker should be laid on the floor, encouraging people to stand on top of it. The effect provided is a tangible pulse that can be felt throughout the entire body.
