Lexus’ ‘Solar Trees’ campaign for its Hybrid Drive technology aims to establish a connection between eco-friendly design and manmade beauty that rivals nature. In this promo, industrial designer Ross Lovegrove’s off-the-grid lily-like outdoor lights are the prime example of this blend between functional design and green sensibilities.
“Just because you’re environmental or thinking in a human way, it shouldn’t be all hippie and tree-hugging,” says Lovegrove in the Lexus ad. His gorgeous solar trees make that point abundantly clear.
