If you're the type of person who gets squeamish about human breast milk, you might not want to go see the Lady Cheese Shop exhibit at the Michael Mut Gallery in New York City. This installation, devised by NYU student Miriam Simun, will feature cheese made from the breast milk of three donors, each paired with a complementary wine. Tasty.
The Lady Cheese Shop exhibit will show visitors the start-to-finish process of making cheese. Simun hopes that the installation will spark conversations about urban food production, the advancement of biotechnology and human consumption at large. On her website, Simun asks, "How do we understand what is natural, healthy, ethical? If we reject all technologically modified food in favor of what is 'natural,' how far back do we go?"
