In an effort to encourage individuals to build with their hands and become engaged in creative projects, Alyssa Hamel and Lucas Ainsworth created a set of cardboard Kinetic Creatures which people assemble using tabs and slots.

There are three animals in the cardboard animal kingdom, Elly the elephant, Rory the rhino, and Geno the giraffe. The project is designed to support creativity while allowing people to engage with materials in a physical and imaginative manner. According to the Kickstarter page, Kinetic Creatures will allow "students to learn about Industrial Design, Kinetic Sculptures and the process of developing an idea into a product."

By taking a trade and art form that often requires extensive mentoring and workshops and making it accessible to everyone, Alyssa Hamel and Lucas Ainsworth are making a positive impact in regards to providing remarkable opportunities for individuals who would not normally be afforded the chance to engage in a such an iteractive project.
