 Kentucky Derby Fashion Off to the races, giddy’up, it’s time to get all gussied up! (More than) half the fun of going to the Kentucky Derby is checking out the fashion and getting dressed up for the races and that, of course, includes big brimmed hats! Although the weather wasn’t ideal at this year’s event, it didn’t stop attendees from getting dolled up. The hat is what pulls the look together, but it’s also one of the trickiest looks to pull off. Thankfully, the Kentucky Derby website offers some tips.  Hats:
Be sure you make the hat a unique, yet tasteful, accent to the wardrobe. Of course, it is the most important accent on Saturday. I like to look at the hat as an attitude. It can create your mood for the day. If it is bright in color and frou frou, you will be sure to have a bubbly day. If its comfortable and light, you are less likely to endure a headache. Also, key info, pull the hair back!!
Shoes:
Prepare for walking and more walking! You will want to be somewhat comfy on the day of the Oaks & Derby when it comes to your hooves! Maybe pack a pair of flats in your big handbag to have another option from your fancy heels.
