Artist Julian Bonequi takes ordinary 3D shapes like blue spheres, shocking pink doughnuts and bright red tubes and turns then into extraordinary lifelike animals.
The artist pays close attention to detail; he captures the true essence of each animal. You'd think you were looking at National Geographic.
The twist is in the psychedelic colors and shapes that make up the detailed frames of each animal. The collages blur the lines between landscape and dreams-cape.
The creatures seem to come from another dimension; a world made up of kaleidoscopically bright colors. The animals look like piles of gumballs and candy or highly decorated cakes.
Perhaps there isn't such a bold line between realism and abstract when it comes to art because these collages are the perfect combination of both worlds.
