HBO Will Be Streaming a Humor-Filled Jon Stewart Show About Current Events
Cadhla Gray — November 5, 2015 — Pop Culture
A Jon Stewart Show spin-off will be featured on HBO as the comedian and the media network recently agreed on a four-year contract. The partnership will result in streamed digital content about current events. The form of the show will be different from a television show, in a much more modern format of "short-form digital content."
Using his classic humor and critical lens, this adapted Jon Stewart show will bring a similar air as his old spot but through a new medium that can be updated frequently and therefore, stay more current. Stewart will be working with a cloud graphic company called OTOY Inc. and will update content throughout the day.
This collaboration gives HBO an opportunity to stay timely with its news reactions and also gives Stewart an opportunity for his humor to be even sharper.
