That’s the thought process behind the artist approach being applied by the Dutch company, De Groene Banaan.

This is the idea that inspired their product named Ivy. It is an external hard drive, with an OLED screen. It’s easy to guess: when you start using it, it will alter its skin to depict the content of the hard disk. That means the pattern is always personal: it is created by the actual data, so it will be different every time you upload something new on it.
