Artist Iris Scott combines the elite use of oil paints with the childlike technique of finger painting to create visually striking artworks that fall somewhere in between. Although incredibly detailed and full of life, the images themselves are quite innocent. From a dog shaking water wildly off of his fur to a girl sleeping soundly on a couch, these are everyday occurrences that kids would readily talk about, but not necessarily adults. Clearly Iris Scott is tapped into his childlike side.
After living for a short time in Southern Taiwan, Iris Scott was introduced to the finger painting technique by chance and has not picked up a brush since. By exploring such an unorthodox style, Iris Scott brings an impressionistic sense of color and texture to her paintings.
