While Van Gogh’s original painting is without a doubt a masterpiece, Interactive Starry Night by Petros Vrellis is 10 times more mesmerizing. If there is nothing good on TV, this flowing painting can be watched for hours to provide entertainment.

Vrellis made the Interactive Starry Night using 'openFrameworks,' which turns the swirling blue skies into a flowing river of color. One can also make trees grow and stars melt into the sky by simply swiping their finger across the painting. After a second or two, the painting resets by melting back into its original form.

While taking hallucinogens used to be the best way to visualize spectacular landscapes and melting night skies, that is no longer necessary thanks to the Interactive Starry Night.
