Restaurant-Connected Social Media Updates

Make Reservations Through Instagram's Action Buttons

Instagram's "action buttons" will better connect consumers to restaurants as the new feature will enable individuals to make reservations and order food through the social media app.

This update was made possible through Instagram's partnership with platforms like OpenTable and Grubhub. To use the function, users simply tap the “Start Order” and “Reserve” buttons which can be found on the Instagram pages of participating eateries. When ordering through Instagram, consumers will have the perk of being able to bypass inputting their information, as the social media site already has it.

This engaging update is still being rolled out throughout the app, but has displayed promising results. A manager of The Jones Assembly, a restaurant in Oklahoma, claims that the eatery receives 15-20 more reservations a week since the app's new feature.
