Humanoid Robot Teaches Itself To Walk

Researchers have created a robot with the ability to not only learn from it’s mistakes, but but also the wherewithall to teach itself new tasks. Recently, the robot learned to walk and it is currently working on learning to run.

Japan’s robot, Asimo is currently able to walk and run. However, the major difference is that these were programmed abilities… the new humanoid robot has actually learned to walk on it’s own, through trial-and-error.

Plans are to use the robot in industrial settings where hazardous materials warrant them unsafe for humans without protective clothing.
