The updated August home smart lock system still provides home owners with a technological way of unlocking their home via smartphone, only now it has even more advanced integrations to increase convenience. It has changed in three ways: an added doorbell camera, an accessory keypad and a voice-controlled locking mechanism.

First, the doorbell camera has motion sensors that allow it to notice if a person is at the door and send your connected smartphone a text message notification. The accessory keypad is for home owners who want to let others into their house who may not have, or want to download, the August app. Therefore, the system now lets owners send unique keypad codes via SMS that the receiver can then punch into the keypad. Finally, the home smart lock now allows iOS users to voice activate it using Siri -- driving the modern home straight into the futuristic age.
