The Heng Balance Lamp is a paragon of elegance, using a simple design feature to engender a complex process. The visually interesting wooden lamp lights up when the user magnetically attracts a hanging ball to another attached by rope to the bottom of the lamp. The result is a mesmerizing illusion of the two wooden ball bearings fighting against gravity.
In terms of design, the Heng Balance Lamp is minimal. Its wooden frame is embedded with LEDs that are linked to a thin wire running through the magnets' strings. When the magnets are attracted to one another, the current is activated and the lamp lights. the Heng Balance Lamp doesn't hide its switch near the base or through a touch unit -- rather, it makes the switch the centerpiece.
