Electronic waste, like computers being thrown out to be replaced by new ones every 3 or 4 years, is a very ubiquitous and recurrent phenomenon in modernized societies. We all have or have had electronic equipment that has become obsolete and/or has reached the end of its useful life for whatever reason. Designer Wataru Watanabe feels that he has found a solution to this global dilemma as far as computers are concerned. His Clear PC concept is designed to increase the life span of mobile computers and improve their sustainability by fitting them with a smart upgrading system and an OLED display screen and stylus input that will minimize the need for peripherals.
Great concept to keep waste at bay.
It is generalized that a computer’s life span is about 3 odd years. But Watanabe is positive that with his Clear computer concept you won’t need to bid adieu to your computer so soon. It is designed to improve the sustainability and extend the overall life span of mobile computers. Moreover it will have the smart upgrading feature to decrease in overall consumption and the amount of e-waste.Its OLED display with touch and stylus input will minimize the need of peripherals and make it handier to move about. System and optical drive bay covers can be changed when a new system or module with different features and ports are installed.
