A long lasting, successful collaboration between Gorenje and Pininfarina resulted in a new high-end range of kitchen appliances. Gorenje launched the first collection designed by Pininfarina in 2000 and continued with second generation in 2005. In 2008, a new limited edition range was introduced at the Pininfarina car museum in Turin. From the press release: 
The new Gorenje Pininfarina Black Collection is comprised of luxury, elegant appliances, offering consumers a contemporary and individualised lifestyle. Gorenje and Pininfarina believe that by combining the principles of excellence in design and the latest technology, they have created a future classic, a design that will last.
The Gorenje Pininfarina Black Collection is a trendy version of the classic Gorenje Pininfarina range with timeless stainless-steel finish. The new collection follows the trend of glossy black surfaces and the eternal play of interweaving materials and colours; aluminium and glass, glossy and matte. Gorenje Pininfarina Black Collection is quite unique for the black anodised aluminium surfaces combined with glossy black glass that changes its appearance and transparency. Another distinctive feature is the ‘touch screen’ operation. Interior is in harmony with the black exterior. It features new, very elegant shelves made of tinted glass, with wooden sides. The range consists of a ‘fridge-freezer, freestanding cooker, integrated oven, hood, and a collection of hobs: ceramic glass, gas and induction. Gorenje also offers a selection of matching panels behind which an integrated dishwasher and microwave can be hidden.
