Behind the scenes images of Google's Data Center have been released to the public. The never before seen headquarters have been a hot topic for anxious tech enthusiasts, and they have now provided a window to the general layout of the company's operations.
Data centers such as this one are usually located in remote spots where the consumption of energy is inexpensive and more efficient. Their whereabouts have added to the sense of mystery that shrouds the busy headquarters.
Secrecy has also been essential to Google's Data Center. When describing a visit to the Oregan hub, author Andrew Blum described it as "a prison," citing the lofty blockades that extended past the cafeteria walls. But thanks to Google's launch of the Where the Internet Lives site, visitors can get a good virtual look at the rooms.
