The third installation of the Georges Le Mercenaire ‘Animals are Kewl’ series is a gripping take on the favorite critters of pop culture. The artist twists elements of the animals, allowing an alternative emotion to drive each piece. The animals take on more serious roles than cute or cuddly. One image depicts a crowd of sharks in 3D glasses, gobbling up fish guts, guffawing at some film. Another shows a contemporary Snoopy, pouting heavily on top of his dog house. The beloved character looks more pretentious than he does sweet and loveable.

The French illustrator is inspired by subtle surrealism and pop culture. Beyond his more humorous designs, Le Mercenaire experiments with graphic poetry and pieces with more depth. Stats for Humanized Creature Cartoons Trending: Older & Chilly
