Joshua Hoffine is an artist who finds inspiration in Hollywood icons like Stanley Kubrick. He directs the stars of his photos, usually family and friends, using elaborate sets and props, make-up and lighting to create creepy images that are terrifyingly beautiful. Hoffine evokes the fears that we all experience as children with wild imaginations. His inspiration is derived from his own childhood fears and the anxieties of his two daughters who can be seen in his work. Skillfully, he translates these tales to film, not dependent on Photoshop and extensive post production.

Prints of his “After Dark, My Sweet” series can be ordered on his website, where you can also glimpse some of his cover art for musical acts. Stats for Nightmare-Inspired Photograpy Trending: Older & Buzzing
